Winter Storm Shuts Down King of Kash

(AP Photo/Orlin Wagner)

The massive snowstorm that moved into Missouri yesterday (Thursday, the 21st) dumped enough snow around the state that management decided to close all the King of Kash stores.  Stores were closed yesterday and today (Friday, the 22nd).

All stores should be open normal hours tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 23.  Just to be sure you don’t waste a trip or risk your safety you might want to call the store you intend to visit first.  This link will take you directly to our locations page:  https://kingofkash.com/browse-by-city/

Tax Season – Expect Delays All Around

Tax Season and the yearly chore of filing your state and federal tax returns is never on anyone’s list of favorite things to do.  Even if you can count on always getting a refund, filling out the return and hoping you’ve done everything correctly can be more than a little nerve-wracking.

Well this year our friends at the IRS are making things even more interesting with delaying the start of filing until January 30.  Additionally, this delay could also affect the speed with which refunds are issued. In the past people could sometimes receive refunds within as short a period as […] Read more

12/12/12 Once in a Lifetime

The type of repeating date that is December 12, 2012 most of us will only see once in a lifetime.  Since dates like this only occur in the early years of a century, the next time – 01/01/2101 is just 89 years away. Dates like this are considered lucky days and that generally means that there is quite a spike in the number of marriages on those days and parents eagerly do their best to coordinate births on those days.  We’ve had a run of special days recently with the new century:  7/7/07 and 10/10/10 just to name two. Since […] Read more

Paycheck to Paycheck – the New Middle Class?

In a recent study conducted by the American Payroll Association, 68% of the 30,600 people surveyed said they would have difficulty if their paycheck was a week late. In other words, more than two-thirds of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. This includes those who consistently battle this problem along with those who experience it at least occasionally. Interestingly, this number is actually down from the height of the recession in 2010.

Women are more likely than men to be stuck living paycheck to paycheck. Also, the percentage of people aged 40-50 who are struggling to make ends meet is rising at a fast […] Read more

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK

This week (October 7-13) is Fire Prevention Week.  Every year about the same time the week commemorates the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 that nearly wiped the city of Chicago from existence.  From that fire grew the realization that keeping the public informed about fire safety and prevention would be the best way to remember the lives lost and the bravery of those who fought the conflagration.

This year the theme of Fire Prevention Week is “Have 2 Ways Out”.  The focus is on planning ahead – develop a plan for two or more escape routes from your home in the […] Read more

What’s the Going Tooth Fairy Price this Year?

Visa thinks they know the answer and they have developed ever-so-handy apps to help parents with this daunting task.  Economic conditions are improving for one sector of Americans – children who receive money from the Tooth Fairy. A survey released by Visa, Inc. shows that the Tooth Fairy is leaving an average of $3.00 per tooth this year, an increase of $0.40 (15%) over the $2.60 left for each pearly white in 2011. To help parents answer the perennial question of how much their children should receive from the Tooth Fairy, Visa has created a new mobile app and online […] Read more

Blue Springs Location Update

New Blue Springs, MO store

Just a few weeks ago we moved our Blue Springs store to a more prominent – and convenient – location. The store has new signage and a new décor look to make your visit more pleasant. The new store is located at 716 NW M-7 Hwy – that’s on the East side of 7- just South of I-70, in the same […] Read more
